Guided wild swimming walks, and wild swim experiences, in Northumberland, the North Pennines, and beyond. In Winter, as well as sea and lake swims, I also offer guided walks via waterfalls, rivers and the coast, without the getting in the water part! Click here to book.

The swim hikes are either one-to-one, or for small private groups of up to four humans (plus me). Little ones aged 8 and above are welcome.
My focus is on catering for those who want a more immersive rather than extreme wild swimming experience, and who might not have the most confidence in their body, physical (or emotional) ability, or general level of fitness. But if none of this applies to you, and you just want to enjoy the wild waters and landscapes, then of course you’re welcome to Pootle too!

The walks, hikes, pootles, or shuffles if that’s how you need to move, to each swim spot, will be tailored to what you feel you can achieve. There will be an element of challenge if wild swimming is new to you, but I will never place you so far out of your comfort zone that distress is caused. If things get a bit much, we pull back.
We have the option of swimming in the sea, river pools, waterfall pools and lakes. Sometimes there’ll be time to swim in more than one of these locations on the same day. If you don’t want to swim, or change your mind at any point during the session, as is very much your prerogative, then we can ‘wild paddle’, or do ‘the pilchard’ and lie on the beach letting (small) waves work their magic. Or we can just sit and chat. Or just sit.
